New Church Stained Glass Project: St. Edward’s Church

We’re excited to announce the recent completion of our newest church stained glass project over in Pennsylvania. St. Edward’s Church was interested in finding the right studio to create a memorial piece in order to pay tribute to their pastor that had passed. They wanted to replace the existing large window in their main observatory that overlooked the main street so they could conceal it during service. After interviewing several different artists and studios, they decided to choose our studio for their project.

The Custom Church Stained Glass Process for St. Edward’s Church

Since this took place over the pandemic, much of the design process relied on online technology. We created different versions of the tree of life for the church to review. During the design review process, we picked up on something Father Rick mentioned – he was interested in designing another piece someday with his favorite Biblical teaching, Jesus on the Sea of Galilee. We wanted to create an iteration of this and decided to present it to the church. They fell in love with design and had it funded by donors. We achieved a three-dimensional look through painting and added a bit of diversity among the other figures that were with Jesus. We also wanted to symbolize the calm after the storm through the depiction of calm waters. Despite some installation challenges, we successfully created this larger-than-life piece.
